Western Motorsports in creative collaboration with The BYOFF(Bring Your Own Film Festival) team and Tourism Welfare Society of Rajasthan organized Chalchitra Expedition ’09 The Ultimate Rajasthan Road Movie Trip featuring

• The magnificent drive through hills, loops, desert
• The heights of the 1000 year old Harshnath Temple in the Aravallis
• The abandoned painted havelis of Shekhawati
• Bikaner where the vision of a water canal to green the desert took shape
• The dramatically visual route from Bikaner to Jaisalmer,dunes on one side canal on the other
• Jaisalmer,magical fortress of the silk route
• The renowned Pushkar Fair

The Chalchitra Expedition, first of its kind expedition, took a highly accomplished team of acclaimed filmmakers, photographers, audio-visual artists and new media practitioners through more than 2000 kilometers of a fabulous landscape who mapped the vibrant colour, music, dance and the living traditions and culture of Rajasthan. A workshop of film students from FTII, Pune on documentary filmmaking also was conducted during the expedition. The students will showcase the resultant efforts at the next edition of BYOFF, Puri in early 2010.
